Solitaire

What is Solitaire?

Solitaire (also known as Klondike) is a classic card game that challenges players to sort a standard deck of cards into four foundation piles, arranged by suit and in ascending order from Ace to King.

The game begins with seven columns of cards, with only the top card in each column face-up. Players can move and rearrange the cards in descending order while alternating between red and black suits to uncover the hidden cards. Cards can also be drawn from the stockpile on the top-left corner when no other moves are available. Once all cards from the columns and the stockpile are transferred to the foundations, the game is won.

How to Play

  • The game is played with a standard 52-card deck
  • The objective is to build all fours suits onto the foundations, starting with the Aces all the way to the Kings
  • A moveable card can only be placed on another card of the next-higher rank and of the opposite color in the layout to release the card beneath it
  • Only a King may be used to fill an open spot in the layout
