Parkour: People in Motion
Parkour: People in Motion follows the nine-month journey of five parkour practitioners as filmmaker Cedric Dahl travels with them along the US West Coast, from San Diego to Burning Man in the Nevada desert. The film reveals how parkour serves different purposes for each practitioner — helping some channel anger and frustration, others connect physically with their surroundings, and many find freedom, self-expression, and a sense of belonging. By showcasing their unique perspectives, People in Motion delves into the philosophy and culture of parkour, highlighting the personal growth, challenges, and transformation that come with the discipline.
As the freerunners move through diverse urban landscapes, the documentary illustrates how parkour reshapes the way people interact with their environment, turning ordinary city structures into spaces for creativity and movement, and challenging conventional ideas about how space is meant to be used.
