A History of God

A History of God covers the history of the world’s three major monotheistic religions. The film traces the roots and evolution of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam from their early beginnings to contemporary belief systems. Analysis of holy texts, ancient art and artefacts, alongside interviews with theologians and scholars, is used to illuminate the long path faith has taken from Abraham to the modern era.

Based on the book by award-winning British author Karen Armstrong, A History of God is more than a simple history lesson. It explores the evolution of the concept of God, from its ancient roots in the Middle East through to the present day.
