Ancient Aliens

Ancient Aliens is a docuseries in which mythology meets history. It explores a number of historical mysteries through ancient texts, legends and archaeological artefacts, proposing that they are evidence that humankind has had interactions with extraterrestrials. The show welcomes a number of experts from a wide array of fields, ranging from priests who believe that angels were ancient aliens to paranormal talk show hosts.

While a number of topics, conspiracies and mythologies are tackled, each episode is built around what the “ancient astronaut theorists” believe actually happened in history. The basic assumption behind each episode is that extraterrestrials gave ancient humankind the knowledge to accomplish major feats in architecture and technology. Ancient Aliens has been criticised for being pseudoscientific, but that certainly does not mean it cannot prompt viewers to question the world around them.
